INFINITUM In-Progress

INFINITUM In-Progress

Greetings Dieselfunkateers!  Coming back up to the surface to give a update.  Beyond writing the occasional Dieselfunk Dispatch for Bleeding Cool its been 24-7 INFINITUM.  This book is a bit of a diversion from the world of Matty’s Rocket, which I love of course.  I came up with the initial concept for INFINITUM back in the 1990s and refined the concept in the early 2000s.  The present form the story and art are taking is due to a more recent series of events, but, I’ll save that for another time.  Let’s just say, this is just one of the Afrofuturist Epics I’ve aspired to do over the decades.

The motivation is to deliver a story as Epic in written scale as any film by Kurosawa and as Massive in visual complexity as a graphic novel by Moebius.  Will it succeed?  Can’t say.  But we are definitely going ALL IN.

BACK TO IT!

Dieselfunk Dispatch: Planet Deep South Recap

Dieselfunk Dispatch: Planet Deep South Recap

Greetings Dieselfunkateers!  I’m starting to like this whole Bleeding Cool Dieselfunk Dispatch thing.  I’m able to cover not just my experience in publishing, but also touch upon things I find of interest..that may affect my work anyway.  In this case we come to the Planet Deep South Symposium: Black And Brown Futures. artwork by Stacey Robinson

The symposium was held in San Antonio, Texas and sponsored by University of Texas at San Antonio Professor, Dr. Kinitra D.Brooks.  Most notable is an awesome Black Panther Panel discussion that featured some of the baddest Afrofuturist Scholars on on the planet.  We had a super blast and the events are recapped HERE
